Rugby league star Jack de Belin said he proposed having a threesome with the woman he is accused of raping and footballer Callan Sinclair during a night out in Wollongong.

Mr de Belin, 29, and his co-accused, Mr Sinclair, a year-old Shellharbour Sharks player, have pleaded not guilty of several counts each of aggravated sexual assault over allegations they tly raped the woman, then aged 19, in a Wollongong apartment after leaving the bar with her. The State of Origin lock said that while at the nightclub the woman made a "V" gesture indicating she wanted the pair to perform oral sex on her and that she had laughed when Mr Sinclair had put his hands on her breasts. He told the court that the three of them left the club at about 1am, got into a tuk-tuk together and while in the three-wheeled vehicle talked about sex. Mr De Belin told the court that the woman wanted to leave the nightclub with them and go to his friend's apartment.

The woman ly told the court that she had gone up to the Gipps Street apartment to use the toilet and that after leaving the bathroom her clothes were forcibly removed by Mr de Belin before the pair took turns raping her. But Mr de Belin said that after having a shower he came into the bedroom to see the woman and Mr Sinclair kissing before going over to them then removing her clothes with her assistance.

He said Troy Martin, an occupant of the apartment he was using, came to the door, prompting the woman to say, "Jack, someone's there. He said he went and talked with Mr Martin before coming back into the room, where he began performing oral sex on her: "She was enjoying it she was moaning and just like a normal sexual interaction. He said the three of them had sex before Mr Sinclair went to the bathroom, while he and the woman continued.

Under cross-examination, Mr de Belin denied forcing himself onto the woman, choking her, and ignoring her pleas for him to stop. Mr Scully put to him: "She had tears coming out of her eyes but you weren't listening to her, you just kept going. Mr de Belin said that back in the bedroom he heard the woman say to Mr Sinclair, "Oh my God, he's got a girlfriend.

Mr Campbell put to him: "At any point during the sexual activity that took place Mr de Belin's sister and former Dragons chief executive Brian Johnston are due to give evidence on Friday.
